TK Quick Strike - Emerged as the best distance greyhound in the country in 2008...putting together one of the greatest seasons ever. He broke the 3/8's track record on 3 different occasions...he won the 2008 Wheeling Mountaineer Classic . His performance in the stakes event was one for the ages having gone undefeated in all the rounds...winning by 17 and breaking his own track record...He compiled an outstanding record of 60-31-9-8-3 in 2008. Tk Quick Strike earn the highest honor from Wheeling track Historian Robin Reed who ranked him the best to ever grace the Wheeling 3/8s course. He also won the Flashy Sir award in 2008 as the best distance greyhound in the country.   He is also starting to make some noise on the breeding front with many pups showing up at tracks across the country...Charter has several pups of Quick Strike on the grounds out of She Dodgin and Silver Shock...Strike Out King turned in an outstanding performance recently at Wheeling posting the fastest time of the day 29:44 and looking very much like his daddy in the stretch winning by 9...he followed that win up by scoring the win in grade A by 8.5 and running the 5th fastest time in Wheeling history....29:33 !!   There are also several more very exciting litters on the farm...can't wait as we are likely to see some special greyhounds from this emerging sire !

Tk Quick Strike was retired this week , history will remember him as the greatest 3/8's greyhound to compete at Wheeling Island race track.

A 'quick' glance at his accomplishments:

2008 Flashy Sir Award winner

2008 Second team All-American

Broke Wheeling 3/8 track record 3 times in 2008, currently holds the mark at 37.20

Track win leader at Wheeling in 2008: record: 60-31-10-6-3.

Won the Mountaineer Classic stake at Wheeling in 2008 and repeated in 2009

Won Night of Stars in 2008, runnerup in 2009

Greyhounds like Quick Strike don't come along very often. It was a joy and honor to watch him compete.

Congratulations to Quick Strike and all his connections for a great career. And good luck in his next career.
